Techo-Bloc was founded in 1989 with a mission. Our goal was to design and manufacture the finest quality hardscape and masonry products in the industry, such as paving stones, retaining wall systems, and masonry stones.The combination of science and art paved the road to Techo-Bloc's success in creating innovative products, unsurpassed for their strength, durability, aesthetics and unparalleled functionality, in production facilities of the highest calibre and latest technology. These characteristics would go on to define our products and become our definition of quality.

That same dedication to quality was applied to Techo-Bloc's partnerships. Our commitment to educate, motivate and support our staff, contractors, and dealers created a loyal Techo-Bloc following. It is from this loyal community and support that we found our strength.

Today, the Techo-Bloc Group has grown to four production facilities in Canada, two new leading-edge plants in Pennsylvania, USA and four distribution centers (in Ontario, Ohio and Massachusetts). All of them perpetuate this commitment to creativity and excellence. Our staff has grown from 5 employees in 1989 to over 400.

Techo-Bloc has changed the face of an industry with its expertise and excellence in product development, recording more than a dozen patents. Here is a sample of our groundbreaking achievements:

1995-1996: Techo-Bloc introduces the world's first tumbled interlocking retaining-wall system, Creta (Patent #2,114,677). In addition, we create the industry's first pre-cast antiqued curbstone, Pietra, as well as Tetra paving stone, North America's first tumbled jumbo-size paving stone.

1997: The world's first commercial replica of ancient cobblestone, the Allegro, is introduced (Patent #2,214,295).

1998: Our Belgik curbstone becomes the first manufactured replica of authentic Belgian block.

1999: Elena, the first modular paving stone to be offered in one single pallet, is engineered and marketed.

2001: Techo-Bloc renders the existing method of drum-tumbling obsolete with new technology that prevents product breakage, eliminates the time-consuming sorting of stones, and eradicates the cement slurry from the pavers' surfaces. This revolutionary technique results in a product unsurpassed in quality, beauty, and durability.

2002: With the introduction of Quarry Stone, Techo-Bloc offers the world its first retaining wall with the look of hand-chiseled, handcrafted stone (Patent #2,392,934).

2004: Techo-Bloc brings its Canadian innovations to the United States. The world's most sophisticated and technologically advanced paving stone and retaining wall production plant opens in Pen Argyl, Pennsylvania.

2005: Techo-Bloc produces the first rugged, high-relief paving stone Santorini. With its strategically accentuated elevations and impressions, this paver provides a bold, hand-hewn look, enhancing any landscape design.

2006: Techo-Bloc presents Monumental Blok, a breakthrough in retaining wall technology. Monumental Blok offers a sculpted, handcrafted appearance while making a bold, strong statement in any landscape. Thanks to Techo-Bloc's special anchoring system, the stones are simply set into place with a backhoe or small dozer. Monumental Blok allows you to build walls up to twelve feet high without the use of geogrid. Roughly the same size as a dozen Mini-Creta, Monumental Blok provides you with significant savings on installation costs.

2007: Techo-Bloc has always thrived on its ability to anticipate opportunities, take on challenges, and create innovative products for a rapidly changing market. With the introduction of ten new products, the 2007 product line-up is stronger than ever. They are Blu, Escala Wall & Cap, Permea, Pillar 3" and 6", Röcka, Stonedge Cap 28" and Villagio.

2008: Once again, Techo-Bloc innovates with a new product line-up, by introducing 5 new products to its already vast selection of pavers and retaining walls. Three new retaining walls make their entrance: Suprema Split Face, Suprema Chiseled and Muro Naturale. The new gigantic Maya stepping stone is unveiled along with the elegant and versatile Le Parisien paver.

2009: Introduction of four new vibrant colours: Chestnut Brown, Harvest Gold, Autumn Red and Oceana. Techo-Bloc also launches its latest creations: Blu, Mista and Venetian.

Blu
The Blu line redefines luxury with its large scale modular pieced system. It sets the bar for scale and style.

Mista
Adding to its avant-garde attributes of combining rugged and natural-looking textures onto units of various sizes, Mista also allows surface water to percolate through to the ground, returning naturally to its source.

Venetian
This type of overlay system is ideal to cover old concrete surfaces, adding value and beauty to the landscape.

2010: Techo-Bloc knows that more and more of its customers wish to integrate natural elements in their environment while taking advantage of the resistance and durability of a manufactured product. It introduces, once again, products that respond to the customers desires with Flagstone, Monticello and Portofino leading the pack.

This innovative and unique paver is a mosaic of carefully sculpted stone.

Monticello
Monticello's rich colours are rendered still more dramatic by its distinctive, undulating surface texture. Deeply chiselled edges speak of strength and endurance, accentuate the timeless grandeur of these impressive slabs.

2011 : Techo-Bloc continues to introduce products that meet the market tendency, such as it amazing Aberdeen line.

Aberdeen
A chart-topper, Aberdeen carries the beauty of the naturally carved and sculpted stones with the dimensional tolerances of a manufactured stone.

Setting new standards in wetcast
Techo-Bloc builds Stonedge II, a leading-edge wetcast plant and the first fully automated facility of its type. It is dedicated to producing the closest replicas of natural stones possible with all the benefits that a perfectly manufactured stone can offer such as consistency in color and dimensions.

2011 is also the year when Techo-Bloc takes giant steps forward with the introduction of its unique commercial and industrial paver. INFLO is an ecological product: it is a sustainable, long lasting, and resistant product that will change how we pave our commercial, industrial, and public properties.

INFLO is part of a revolutionary permeable pavement system. Unlike porous pavers, INFLO is a solid paver system that allows water to infiltrate through the joints rather than through its own surface.

INFLO, due to its tongue and groove attributes, maintains its interlocking properties over time and under heavy repetitive traffic loads.
